The first State
Champions of 2009 were crowned at the Lone Star Shootout North
Texas State Finals, which was held June 27-28 at Big League
Dreams in Mansfield. In the Men's C Division, Color Station (Ft.
Worth) was the champion, while SA Hitmen / DPS/Worth (San
Antonio) finished second. In the Men's D Division, KG Sports
Grill/Natty D's (Ft. Worth) lost their second round game then
came all the way back to win the title with a 10-1 record.
The D runnerup was
famous Softball (Ft. Worth) who won the Shootout Men's E State
Championship in 2008, then moved up a classification in 2009 and
was right back in the championship game. In the Men's E
Division, Texas Turbulence (Greenville) held off a strong
challenge from Texas Sawx
(Mansfield) to
capture the crown in an "if" game. In the Mixed Division, Driven
(Dallas) won 1st place, while Powerhouse (Ft. Worth) came in
second. |
